There's never a bad time to get the crap scared out of you.
And Dormont's Hollywood Theater knows it.
That's why they've put together the Janu-Scary horror film festival, running from Jan. 25 through Feb. 1.
Aside from offering six horror flicks (some 35mm classics, some new), the festival kicks off the theater's affiliation with Dread Central Presents , the film distribution arm of the popular scary movie website.
The Dread Central films kick off the festival on Thursday, Jan. 25 with a double feature night that kicks off at 9 p.m
Zombiology (2017): A pair of young carefree dudes, who fancy themselves as heroes, take on a mysterious monster that's turning people into zombies.
Turbo Kid (2015): In an post-apocalyptic parallel future of 1997, an orphaned teen and a mysterious girl run afoul of Zeus (Michael Ironside), the self-proclaimed leader of the Wasteland.

Trench 11 (2017): Set in 1918, a small group of soldiers investigating German tunnel systems come face to face with German's newest horrifying weapon.
The Gate (1987): Kids, left home alone, accidentally unleashes a horde of malevolent, pint-sized demons from a mysterious hole in their suburban backyard. With Stephen Dorff.
Mom and Dad (2017): A teenage girl and her little brother must survive a wild 24 hours during which a mass hysteria of unknown origins causes parents to turn violently on their own kids. With Nicolas Cage.
Suspiria (1977): Classic about a newcomer to a prestigious ballet academy who comes to realize that the school is a front for something sinister amidst a series of grisly murders.
The Midnight Man (2016): A girl and her friends find a game in the attic that summons a creature known as The Midnight Man, who uses their worst fears against them. With Robert Englund.
Vidar the Vampire
(2017): A Christian farmer searching for a higher purpose to life, falls into sin and wakes up as the Prince of Darkness in the city of Stavanger, Norway.
Tickets for the movies are $8 each, except for "Suspiria," which is $15. Tickets for the double feature are $10. A five-movie pass (which doesn't include the Dread Central double feature or "Suspiria") are $30.
